August 21 What a birthday!Typhoon NURI is approaching HK. From the tropical cyclone track, it will hit HK directly tomorrow. It has been very hot these days... although there is no rain and strong wind yet, the heat and dull weather makes people feel uneasy.
The official forecast says there will be typhoon #8 tmr (where all the offices/ schools are closed) tmr. Early in the morning today, we have a very happy discussion on the weather in the office. Some are happy with the forecaste, say hesitates about this as weather is something you cannot 100% forecast... Anyway, the forecast is a very good and exciting news to everyone of us... as it means we have a DAY OFF!

I will have Karaoke with some of my colleagues tonight so we can enjoy more as we might not need to work tmr!! This year i have quite a lot of wishes... besides all of them, i have one extra: 心想事成 (whatever i want, i will get it)
August 14 Olympic Esquestrain 馬術 @HKI am not a big fan of Sports (though i've been playing handball for 15 yrs)... however when Iris called and asked if i want to watch the Olympic game mths ago, I was excited and it 'seems' a big thing relevant to people all over the world. So without knowing the date/ time, the event (just know it is related to horse) and the fee, we just go ahead. Finally, I watched the first Olympic game in my life yesterday and it was a Jumping event . Before I go, some people told me how boring it is and the audience were sleeping in the veunue... so lucky that it is jumping event - at least i can identify how good they are by how many bars they hit down. I am not qualified to comment on the game. However, I would like to share my feeling towards the arrangments. It was a very well-organized event. I cannot complain on anything from I got off the train til i left the venue. Right after we got off the train (at University station), there were many people with Olympic helper uniform showing us the way to the free shuttle bus directly to the venue. The check-in was also very smooth, queue was not long and we spent just 5 mins to get into the venue. There was a X-ray machine to check all the bags (same as the one at the airport). The guard who monitoring the bags told the helper to hand me my bag carefully as he seen my camera inside. I've never experienced this kind of service before. After the check-in, we got some soveniors like fan, mascout flag, rain coat, etc. The helper patiently explained to us about the sourvenior and said we get more that night since that it was a final game. they are cute, right? We are not allowed to bring any food or drink inside. I thought the foods there should be expensive.... We were so surprised to see the food was so reasonable - water HK$5 per bottle, green tea HK$8 per bottle, meal box HK$28, hot dog $10, chicken leg HK$10. Many helpers in the venue and they were so friendly and polite. They greeted to everyone, smile, answer questions, show you the way... , I felt very surprised as it is absolutely not a typical HK service. Of cos I am very glad to see/ experience that. The mobile toilets were super clean and with all the things you needed. I am 120% satisfied. The event started at 7.15pm until 12.55 (mid night), well it is loooong. There was one hour break in between... so we bought hotdog and drink took some pictures (not many interesting things but just took anything related to Olympic around).
Some pics of the game:
August 09 Last day in SwedenThis is the last day we stay in Sweden.
The weather was suprisingly good this morning... it was very very sunny.
We stay at a friend's place @ Sundbyberg, it was a mid-class residential area in the past but now is occupying by many single/ couples as the apt is not very big... this is the surrounding.
We went out to the city centre of Stockholm, had a very nice brunch under the sun, then walked around the city to see the brighter side of it.
somebody joined us? nej he was just asking the way but since I was taking pics of them, he waved at me~
Although the weather of the whole wk is not good.... (now is already rainning again), the most important thing is not the visit the places but to see the friends and family here. So MISSION COMPLETED. We are heading to HK tonight la~
Half a day of bonus~The weather forecast of the coming days will be RAINNY so i already had no expectation.
most of the things planned to visit had to be cancelled due to the weather.
However when we woke up this morning, there was SUN~
So we decided to eat breakfast and go out as soon as possible to catch the good weather!
(as we didn't know how long it will last)
We went to the Stockholm harbour and took a boat to one of the islands called Vaxholm.
the boat ride just took 1 hour...it is a small island with just some houses and small shops selling home deco stuff. it is quite cossy and pretty quite and peaceful island.
However, not so long after we reached the island, it started to rain... rain... and rain....
well, at least we got half day bonus of the preious sun.
ONE sunny day in the whole week ~Finally I had one day which was with the beautiful sun in the whole week in Sweden~
Living in Hong Kong, although we have rainny times, i wasn't so desperate for sunny days.
Anyway i had one day... i wish to hv more sunny day but i dont think i can wait for longer as i am leaving tmr.
it was a old castle at around one hr drive from Eskilstuna.
Since the sun was so beautiful, i had to go out to the Eskilstuna town centre again and take some pics!!
Under the sun, eveything looks sooo beautiful and full of live!
i walked around by myself and found a gynasium... it is a handball hall... i played handball for years before and handball is big in Sweden so i went inside and take a quick look.
August 05 What a Swedish Summer!Last time I visited Sweden was in Dec and it was a winter...
As Hongkonger, i am not get used to the COLD and it was not bad as i expected it was cold.
This time, i come in early Aug. Although it is not the June/July mid summer, it is still SUMMER.
However, the first day i came (2 Aug) it was 18-24 C... well with sun it is not bad...
then yesterday, it was rainning sometime... not good but ok la...at least i can still walk outside with 3 tops and one big jacket (just bought here as i don't expect i need that think jacket for "summer")...
We had outdoor BBQ. Even though i was given a seat nearest to the fire, i was freezzzzzzing~
today, it is cold + raining - 12C is definitely winter in HK~ I tried to walk outside but...it was tooooooooo cold so i better still indoor... made a MUSHROOM PIE!
Thanks Elvy for preparing most of the things & Lasse did the washing afterward.
